A Good Word Wednesday #114 WHY?
A little bit of help, hope and goodness for you each Wednesday
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.” Proverbs 12:25
GOOD WORD OF THE DAY: Why?
What big unanswered questions have you pondered lately? In recent days, I’ve wondered:
Why are some of my loved ones taken away so soon? Why couldn’t God leave them here with me for a while longer?
Why are children involved in car wrecks? Why are so many babies aborted?
Why do the innocent suffer when countries fight an endless war?
We are not the only ones who have “Why” questions. In the Bible, Job wondered why he was even born to have to endure such miserable hardships. And Jesus, when He was on the cross cried out to God the Father, “Why have you forsaken me?”
Who are other people in the Bible who asked why questions?
Do you feel you are lacking faith when the questions won’t leave you alone? I believe that asking questions, especially “Why” questions, is the first step toward increasing our trust in God. It is admitting that you don’t have answers and you are seeking help in God’s wisdom. It is paving the way toward a deeper relationship with God. And you learn more about His character. He can handle your hardest questions. He wants you to ask Him.
So why doesn’t He always answer? Or give you what you ask for? As you learn more about Him, you know that His ways are not your ways. And you know that His perspective spans eternity. You learn that all things work for your good as one of His own.
Why do you think it is important to ask God “Why?”
WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD
“Or why was I not as a hidden stillborn child, as infants who never see the light?… Why is light given to him who is in misery, and life to the bitter in soul…?” Job 3:16, 20.
“About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lemasabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”) Matthew 27:46
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

I saw God's Heart in a way that I have not experienced before
Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2024
I have seen the world and met people from all cultures, but I truly did not open myself to seeing God's love in them. DeAnna helped me to see that in this book. I have been convicted and will share this book with many of my friends and family.
NEWS! For my Atlanta friends — As you are reading this today, I am in Atlanta sharing with you “Unseen People.” I will be with the good people of Johnson’s Ferry Baptist Church (the 25th, 11 am) and Stonecreek Church (the 26th, 6 pm). I will share stories from the book and sign your book!
I would love to speak at your upcoming event! Let’s talk about it! Contact me for more info: deannalynnsanders@gmail.com or reply to this email.

A FINAL GOOD WORD
You may never know the answer to your why questions. Or God will choose to answer in an unexpected way. It doesn’t mean that He doesn’t love you, or that your faith isn’t big enough. It means that He is God and you are not and that He holds you close in the storms of life. In those moments of doubt, fear and unanswered questions, rest assured that He sees you, knows your pain, and loves you. That is enough for now.
Thank you for reading these words. I’m deeply honored to share this time with you each week.
This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.” Jeremiah 30:2
Gratefully yours,
Thank you sweet friend. He is enough!
He is definitely enough for now. Beautiful words.
