A Good Word Wednesday #148 LOOK πππ₯
A little bit of help, hope and goodness for you each Wednesday
Our world is on fire. Literally. With bombs exploding and violence erupting, it seems there is danger everywhere we look in our world these days β from L.A. to Israel to Iran. And maybe within your own neighborhood, home or heart. Here is hoping that a ceasefire holds.
Where do you look when life is scary and overwhelming? When you get a life- shortening diagnosis, or when your once innocent child turns into an angry prodigal? Or when you donβt even want to get out of bed because of the turmoil in your head?
Where do you look when your vision is blurry? Itβs an important question that needs an answer. Because where you look and whom you look to is what or whom you will follow.
John knew this when he said, βLook! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (Joh 1:29)
βWhere the eyes are fixed, so the heart is. Where the looking goes, so the heart goes. Where you look is where you love.β
Loved to Life, Ann Voskamp, p. 14
Your wounded heart knows that when you truly look and see Jesus for Who He is, you want to follow Him. Be with Him. Be His disciple.
Where are you looking for hope today?
Wednesday in the Word
βLet your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.β Proverbs 4:25
βAs we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.β 2 Corinthians 4:18
βI believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!β Psalm 27:13βThe next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, βLook, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!β John 1:29
Good Question(s) of the Week: Whom do you look to for help when your life is a mess? Why?
Good Words from Unseen People
From Unseen People, Introduction
βWhat does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery ad want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.β β Augustine of Hippo, The Confessions.

A FINAL GOOD WORD
The truth is, we are tempted to look away. Away from the Truth. Away from the One who loves us dearly and deeply. Itβs my prayer for all of this week to look to Jesus, the Lamb of God, Who has come to bring us life, love and light. No one who looks honestly into the eyes of Jesus can remain unchanged.
Thank you for reading. Have a good week. See you back here next Wednesday.
Please share this Good Word with others!
Gratefully yours,
