A Good Word Wednesday #98 MORE
A little bit of help, hope and goodness for you each Wednesday. 🥛🥣📘
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.” Proverbs 12:25
Good Word of the Day: More
“Please, sir, I want some more.”
―Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist
It’s a popular quote you may be familiar with. The poor little hungry orphan boy just wanted some more porridge.
What do you want more of today? More money. More time. More ___________.
Wanting more of what you don’t need is selfishness. Wanting more of what others has is greed. But wanting more of what Jesus wants to give you is a treasure.
How do we discover this treasure? One way is through daily quiet time with Him. If you’ve read any of my past writings, you know that this is where I like to meet God:
On my deck. In the quiet. Alone. In the stillness of morning. This is where I can hear the voice of God more clearly. I hear Him in the scriptures. It is where I want to stay long and dig deeply into His Word.
The world lures us into wanting more stuff. More vacations. More awards. But what God wants from us is more time with Him.
Summertime can get crazy with all the activities you and your family have on your calendar. It seems there is always room for one more thing to do. But remember, you were made for more time with your Maker. I love the song by that title. I have the video link below. Take time to listen. What do you want more of today?
Wednesday in the Word
“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105 NIV“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 ESV

Good Unseen People
I wrote the following for Stories for Global Good and posted it a few years ago about wanting more and going deeper in relationship with Jesus:
As believers in Jesus, we know we live in a world that will not be our forever home. Thank goodness. While we are thankful for the abundance He has blessed us with now, we know there is more. There is a holy habitation in heaven where we get to be with Him always, and with all the people in our lives who are already there enjoying Him.
What a day that will be. Absolutely no place like home. Hope to see you there.

A Final Good Word
It humbles me to know that God didn’t make people because He needed us. He is completely perfect just as He has always been. But He wanted us. He wanted us to be in a relationship with Him. Not just any relationship. One that is growing, deep, intimate. That’s what I want. Everyday, more of Him. I hope that for you too, friend.
Thank you for reading these words. I’m deeply honored to share this time with you each week.
“This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. Jeremiah 30:2
Gratefully yours,
just give me Jesus 🎶
Thank you Danielle! I appreciate your reply. There’s always more to have of Him!
