Yesterday we found out there is a family we don't know who needs food, we got their address and contact information. So today we went shopping and we'll drop off the groceries soon.

I love this! I love the photo you used of the woman leaving the gift by the door. That sort of serving is the most fun, I think - doing something for someone on the sly. ๐Ÿฅฐ This was exactly what I needed to read today. Next week is going to be a challenging week, and I need to remember to keep a Christ-like attitude. It will be a lot easier to do that if I focus on serving. Thank you. ๐Ÿ˜Š โค๏ธ

Loved this post! Everyone can serve someone else. You don't have to spend any money, have a lot of spare time, or even have any special talents. Serving others can be as simple as:

--sending an encouraging text message ("Thinking of you and wishing you a great day today!"),

--making a phone call to someone who might live alone or need a pick-me-up because they are going through a difficult time (Most people wish someone would ask them "How are you doing?" and really mean it.)

--sending a get well card

--Holding the door open for someone or letting another person go ahead of you in the checkout line

Last night at City Council we continue to hear from citizens upset with their city government and the changes, aka improvements being made to our infrastructure. I was reminded that service is a choice. Stepping out into service, without any reward, but for the inherent example Jesus gave us, is a choice. It is not always easy nor kind. But it is the right thing to do. We must be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world to serve. We must leave things better than we found them, and share the good news of the gospel. Service leads to a grateful heart and we all need more of that. Happy Thanksgiving DeAnna. Blessings to you and your family.
