My first thought in your opening paragraph was, "Time? Never enough!" Lol! I have to keep a weekly calendar or I forget to do even little things. I break my day down into Breakfast, Bible Study, Bike ride, whatever chores or appointments I have, Cook supper, Sweep up at the end of the day, etc. And then I have to refer back to it or I can't remember what I did the day before. π€£
But, here's something on time. I play pickleball at a court behind Crossway Baptist Church. Part of every time we play is to stop and have a short devotional and prayer time together. Yesterday, the devotion told the story of an elderly lady on a bus who a younger woman accidentally hit with all her shopping bags, knocked over her drink, said something rude, etc. The older woman sais nothing and smiled pleasantly. Then in a bit, the younger woman felt guilty and asked, "I was so rude to you but you didn't get upset. Why not?" And the older woman replied,
"Oh, don't worry, honey. I'm fixing to get off at the very next stop. The ride is so short. Why waste precious time?"
The devotion continued with something like,
"Angered by a friend? Let it go. The ride is so short.
Grandkids muddy up the floor? Play with them and clean it later. The ride is so short.
No time to pray for someone? *Take* time. The ride is so short.
Burn the casserole? Order a pizza and forget about it. The ride is so short...."
It had a *lot* of wonderful examples. I really love that. We never know when our bus will stop, and the ride is so short. Let's make the ride meaningful. π₯°
