Loved this, DeAnna. My love language is words of affirmation as well. I love to send encouraging cards and notes to people, and it is so meaningful to me to receive the same.
Thank you for sharing about your upcoming book; the poem you shared was so powerful and touching. ❤️

You've written good words. I have the same love language, if someone says "good job," it's so much more valuable to me than any gift they could buy me.
Boy, you put a lot of good stuff in this one! I'm a pretty decent encourager most of the time, but sometimes my shyness keeps me from it. Its easy to say, "Great job!" or "Way to go!" when someone tells you an accomplishment of theirs or their kid's or something like that. And its super easy on social media. But its harder in real life to go up to someone I get nervous around or am not as close to and tell them that I liked what they did, or that I think this thing over here that they're working on seems tough but I know they can do it. It's challenging for me to go up to people like that at all, let alone *talk*. But maybe I can try harder in the name of encouragement. 🙂
My love language is Safe Physical Touch. Safe hugs. I love to give and get hugs from safe people. And this hardly ever happens, but holy moly, when a safe person just sits down by me and puts their arms around me and hangs onto me a long time... gosh...
I love poem you shared that the woman wrote. Its beautiful, and I love seeing it from her point of view. ❤️
Thanks, Deanna!!!! I always love what you write!!! Great job!! And thank you so much for your words 🙂
Thank you for your insights, Emily. You are an encouraging person! It’s always easier to express our own love language to others than to express love in their own language. Therein lies the challenge! Next time I see you, you are getting a big safe hug from me!!
To encourage someone, I have to first see them, listen to them. Probably why my love language is quality time. Jesus modeled that well, and time with Him is everything to me.
From that poem you reference in your book, her words are true, "Jesus makes us become sisters." And I'm so grateful He does.
